Spanish musician Pau Donés, the lead singer and guitarist of the popular band Jarabe de Palo, was known for his profound lyrics and soulful music.
In his 25-year career, Donés wrote many hit songs in Spanish mainly around the themes of love, friendship and optimism.
Pau Donés succumbed to cancer in 2020. However two weeks before passing away, he agreed to an in-depth interview to Spanish popular journalist Jordi Évole.
A bright man who was painfully aware that his final hour was fast approaching, Donés opened up to the extreme in the conversation, that would later become the award-winning documentary “Eso que tú me das”.
While talking to Évole, Donés talked about fatherhood and admitted to the fact that until he became the dad to daughter Sara he couldn’t say “I love you” to his loved ones.
The man who would spend most of his life writing love songs could not express his love to the people dearest to him.
In fact, Donés was using music as a way to express emotions he could not verbalize.
