The day my daughter turned six months I took her to the swimming pool for the first time.
I had been looking forward to that day since the day she was born, however the swimming lessons established babies need to be at least six months old in order to get into the water (if I remember right, it had something to do with their immune system not being ready).
So after that day, once a week she and I would get in the water (special swimmer diapers and all) and follow our little routine. The most impressive thing, by far, was discovering how blowing air into a baby's face triggers the diving reflex.
Five years later, one day she learned to dive. By herself.
