Hey dads – Adrian here.

If, at any random moment at home, I ask my five-year old daughter what she would like to do, her answer is straightforward: LA MACHACACIÓN.

LA MACHACACIÓN -from machacar, to crush in Spanish- is basically a playful fight between her and me on top of the big double bed in my bedroom.

The we fight gently for a little while: pillow-fighting, air-wrestling, rocket-launching, castle-defending and general tickling.

I’ve been doing this with her ever since she was born, it just occurred to me when she was little (18 months old, maybe?) without any further thinking beyond having fun the two of us.

But then, I found out, LA MACHACACIÓN is one of the greatest things you can do with your kid.
