Hey dads – Adrian here.

A few years back, a European-scale study revealed that, on average, roughly 8 out of 10 separated parents in Europe did not have a shared custody arrangement.

This means, children would end up living with their mothers.

Back then my home country, Spain, was lagging behind the nordics (arguably, the Champions League of social equality) and Belgium, on par with France. Not too bad I guess.

However modern fatherhood is quickly gaining ground in Spain, and this is MASSIVE news for the country the word MACHO originated in: for the first time ever there are as many cases of shared custody as single mom custody.

And a stronger reason to celebrate Spain than -here it comes- our national team winning the Euro 2024 (apologies to our English readers).
